So why does Australia provide Copyright laws and Intellectual property rights to artists and creative industries such as fine art, graphic design & photography yet leave product designers open to be copied?
Under the current IP laws unlike works referred to as fine art, design of objects and furniture is not entitled to copyright protection and are left vulnerable to copying. I have been one of many designers targeted by large companies ready to make money from unprotected designers here in Australia.
Australia’s retail landscape may play a major part in the decision to keep designers unprotected. Much of our retail in Australia is made up of replica’s. Stores like Kmart, Target, Freedom, Bunnings and Matt Blatt.
All these retailers hold an arsenal of replica rip-offs on their showroom floor so making it illegal will put these businesses in trouble. In fact, one of the biggest culprits is Westfarmers the conglomerate owning many of the offending companies employing 223,000 workers with a revenue of $68.44 Billion (2017) it’s no wonder the cries of the small Australian designers aren’t being heard. With figures like this creating change which will affect many of these company’s bottom dollar just adds to the friction in the uphill battle the Australia design industry faces.

Sometimes i wonder if social media is a blessing or a curse. I’ve been enjoying videos and listening to music of my favorite celebrities wholeheartedly without knowing that i’d fall into the hands of these dare devil scammers posing as celebrities on Instagram and Tiktok. They sucessfully put up great profiles posing as the original celebrities and contacted me saying ‘’I should get paid membership cards if i was truly a fan’‘. My love overshadowed my cloud of thoughts and i paid for everything they had requested and kept asking till the bank had my account on hold because of the huge bitcoins and usdt i kept purchasing and sending to them.
After further review from the bank and questioning about my transaction history, it was finally a word i had never expected to hear in my life which states " I’ve been scammed off thousands of my hard earned money". I reported to the authorities and they even hurt me more by saying nothing could be done to recover my money back. I always knew myself as a fighter and i never give up easily especially when fighting for the right and justice that concerns my loved ones and I. Google became my friend for over a week as i was searching and looking up possible ways to get my money back. A name that got my attention deeply based on testimonies and reviews I read was "REFUNDD POLICI RECOVERY SERVICES’’.
I reached out immediately to them using the contact information (Wasapp: +1 972 998 2755) because the reviews had them attached and to God be the glory my effort was crowned with success.
